Destination Plymouth, also DP, Inc. began in 1992 as a non-profit, co-operative venture between members of the hospitality and tourist industry in Plymouth, MA and the Town of Plymouth. Pooling resources together, these businesses and the town formed an alliance for the purchase of advertising space for promoting Plymouth, MA and all of its attractions, the lodgings, restaurants, retail shops, and other traveler useful information.
Destination Plymouth is the destination management organization (DMO) for the Town of Plymouth. A voluntary Board of Directors governs Destination Plymouth. The Board solicits equal participation from all members. Destination Plymouth is solely dedicated to area tourism promotion, and to providing guests with exceptional personal service to help make use of the Plymouth tourism infrastructure.
Destination Plymouth in its promotional efforts works closely with the Regional Tourism Council (RTC) which is the Plymouth County Convention and Visitors Bureau (PCCVB), and the Massachusetts office of Travel & Tourism.
